Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux has closed permanently at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Which, we realize is pretty much what our headline said, but maybe you should try writing 3,327 blog posts and see how original your ledes are.<\/p>\n

Walk-On’s opened on March 28, 2022, which means the restaurant and bar had about the same lifespan as ferrets, canaries and clownfish. In Las Vegas restaurant terms, Walk-On’s lasted only slightly longer than its ribbon-cutting ceremony.<\/p>\n

Oh, yes, this story is going to have a lot of filler. Again, you try writing 3,327 blog posts, smartass.<\/p>\n

Walk-On’s was known for its “underdog culture,” Louisiana-inspired menu, family-friendly atmosphere and ability to hide from customers.<\/p>\n

The restaurant was considered by many to be poised for long-term success due to its location along the path to the Caesars Forum conference center. Those people were idiots.<\/p>\n

Here’s what the news release said about the restaurant when it opened: “The restaurant will bring its unique Louisiana flavor to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip with diverse, made-from-scratch dishes including Crawfish Etouffee, Duck & Andouille Gumbo and Krispy Kreme Donut Bread Pudding, game-day classics such as burgers and everyday favorites like salads, wraps and more. As the first Walk-On’s to feature a full breakfast menu, the Las Vegas location will offer new menu items such as a French Toast Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Chicken & Waffles, in addition to staple dishes like Biscuits & Gravy, Beignets and popular signature cocktails including the Mad Mary. With more than 82 TVs inside the space, Walk-On’s Las Vegas is poised as a go-to destination on The Strip.”<\/p>\n

Walk-On’s is co-owned by Drew Brees, some sort of athlete.<\/p>\n

The food was decent, but the presence of sports sort of ruined the vibe. The sooner we ban sports and TVs from restaurants the better, we have always said.<\/p>\n

Based in Baton Rouge, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux was founded in 2003 by Brandon Landry, a former walk-on basketball player at LSU.<\/p>\n

The closure of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux was so sudden, we didn’t break the story. We got the tip from @seventensuited<\/a> who gets around Vegas the way we did back when we cared.<\/p>\n

Modesty precludes us from mentioning the fact we broke the story<\/a> Walk-On’s was coming to Harrah’s in the first place.<\/p>\n
