Downtown’s Triple George Grill is one of this blog’s favorite restaurants in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

A recent visit provided us a chance to share 12 things to love at this unassuming, reasonably-priced downtown discovery.<\/p>\n

1. Blackberry Martini<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our favorite Triple George bartender, Marti, whipped up this incredible drink to get us in the mood for dinner. It worked. The blackberry martini has vodka, muddled blackberries, sugar, lime juice, sweet and sour and a dash of pineapple.<\/p>\n

Note the fruits and vegetables. Technically, the blackberry martini is a health drink.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

2. The Wedge<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing fancy, just crispy and delicious. A light start to the feast. Blue cheese, ranch, whatever.<\/p>\n

We’re looking forward to getting another wedgie soon.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

3. Caprese Salad<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, some basil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction. We did mention you should pace yourself, right?<\/p>\n

“Caprese” means “the salad from Capri,” which we assume is located in a foreign country of some kind.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

4. Clam Chowder<\/strong><\/p>\n

The New England Clam Chowder is sure to hit the spot, especially as the nights get chillier in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

You’ll wish it had a diving board.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

5. Shrimp Cocktail<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rounding out the appetizer course is a classic shrimp cocktail.<\/p>\n

Shrimp cocktails are sometimes called prawn cocktails, but that sort of has an alien invasion vibe to it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

6. Charbroiled Salmon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moving on to the entrees, we start with a charbroiled salmon. You can also get it blackened.<\/p>\n

The chef chooses your entree’s accompaniments. Just go with it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

7. Chicken Saltimbocca<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perfectly-cooked chicken buried in prosciutto, sage, fresh mozzarella and Marsala mushroom sauce.<\/p>\n

Saltimbocca is Italian for “jumps in the mouth.”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

8. Chicken Parmesan<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve said it before, but Triple George’s Chicken Parmesan is the best in Las Vegas, and we’ll keep saying it until you try it, mostly because we like being right.<\/p>\n

9. Filet Mignon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Served with a red wine reduction, the filet mignon is terrific, and priced at a very non-Strip value of $30.95.<\/p>\n

“Filet mignon” is French for “dainty fillet.” We’re comfortable enough with our masculinity to order it, anyway.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

10. Spicy Shrimp & Scallop Linguine<\/strong><\/p>\n

We don’t have to know what a Creole cream sauce is to recommend this dish. It’s Triple George.<\/p>\n

Linguine means “little tongues” in Italian. Oh, Italians.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

11. Crème Brûlée<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s time for dessert, and who doesn’t not love a lovely crème brûlée? We certainly don’t. Not. You know what we mean.<\/p>\n

It’s probably better if you don’t get between us and crème brûlée.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

12. Cheesecake<\/strong><\/p>\n

It doesn’t matter what kind. The one pictured below is the cherry cheesecake, but any cheesecake at Triple George is the perfect way to bring an exceptional dining experience to a bittersweet end. Emphasis on “sweet.”<\/p>\n

National Cheesecake Day is July 30. It’s pretty good all the other days, too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
