Rivea at W Las Vegas (previously Delano) will close on June 22, 2025, according to MGM Resorts.<\/p>\n

The restaurant’s adjoining lounge, Skyfall, will remain open.<\/p>\n

Prior to becoming Rivea, the space was home to Mix Restaurant and Mix Lounge (technically, miX Restaurant and miX Lounge, but we hate that stylistic crap). No plans for the Rivea space have been announced yet.<\/p>\n

Delano (part of Mandalay Bay) was rebranded to W Las Vegas (part of the Marriott family) on December 18, 2024.<\/p>\n

Yes, we broke the story<\/a> the W rebranding would happen, but please stop with all the praise, it’s embarrassing and not everything has to be about us, probably.<\/p>\n

W is its own brand, so it was expected there would be some changes following its takeover of the hotel, to bring Delano more in line with W’s brand standards.<\/p>\n

Yes, W was a “hotel within a hotel” at SLS for a minute. Don’t make it awkward.<\/p>\n

We hope to relay news soon that Rivea is being replaced by an Italian restaurant, because that’s the cuisine we want everything to be replaced with, including a lot of existing Italian restaurants. Looking at you, Caramella.<\/p>\n

Rivea has operated since Oct. 1, 2015, conceived by chef Alain Ducasse. He is one of the most famous chefs<\/a> of his generation that you have never heard of, at least not since he was voted out as the Mayor of Flavortown.<\/p>\n

Yes, Rivea was Italianish. Lobster with purple artichokes is not the kind of Italian we’re talking about. The Italian we’re talking about has lots of bread, not striped bass with minestrone reduction, freaks.<\/p>\n

Rivea was “influenced by the delectable food markets of Provence and Italy.” Also, “Chef Alain Ducasse and Executive Chef Bruno Riou’s menu focused on simple, fresh Mediterranean flavors made with the best West Coast-sourced seasonal ingredients.” Or as we like to say, “no chicken parm.”<\/p>\n
