Oof. The Black Eyed Peas have canceled their planned residency at Planet Hollywood.<\/p>\n

The group that crushed it in 2010 said the cancelation of their 15-date residency is due to “current circumstances,” by which they mean ticket sales were in what those in the industry refer to as “the toilet.”<\/p>\n

The bottom line: Black Eyed Peas without Fergie (she left the group in 2017) is just Will.i.am pushing buttons on an M-Audio Torq Xponent USB MIDI DJ Controller.<\/p>\n

The group posted news of the cancellation on social media. Social media posts are the new news releases.<\/p>\n

Here’s the statement: “To our dearest Peabodies, it is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned. Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically. Stay tuned for updates on future performances by following us, we can’t wait to see you again.”<\/p>\n

It should be noted that “Peabodies” is inarguably the worst name for a fanbase, ever. Other contenders<\/a> include “Yang Gang,” “Avatards,” “Beliebers,” “Fanilows,” “Cumberbitches,” “Durannies” and “Nippians.” We’re fairly sure the “Nippians” thing is why Whitney Houston drowned herself. All due respect.<\/p>\n

The Black Eyed Peas residency was supposed to start on Feb. 15, 2025. Now, not so much.<\/p>\n

If only someone could’ve seen this coming!<\/p>\n

Oh, wait, the headline of our Sep. 2024 story<\/a> was literally this: “Black Eyed Peas Announce Vegas Residency, Nobody’s Sure Why.”<\/p>\n
