We sort of snuck into Bacon Nation before it opened, so here’s a quick walkthrough.<\/p>\n

The bacon is just sort of a fun marketing hook.<\/p>\nAmong the bacon offerings, Bacon Nation touts “14 variations of house-cured bacon with flavors ranging from lemon pepper to brown sugar, teriyaki, Cajun, jalapeno, buffalo, salt and vinegar, applewood bourbon, truffle and chocolate-dipped.”<\/p>\nBacon Nation sits next to The D’s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/the-d-expands-bar-canada-previews-bacon-nation-saves-sigma-derby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">newly-expanded Bar Canada<\/a>. We’ve yet to see a reference to “Canadian bacon” in the advertising, but we’re sure it’s in the works.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34559\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34559\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34559 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_the_d1.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34559\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">More and more restaurants have unbearably hard seats. This isn’t one of them.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe D has made the most of its former D Grill and showroom spaces. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. See also, “I ham what I ham.”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nA news release about the restaurant says, “Developed with Chef Josh Green, the menu will be a true bacon celebration. This will range from sandwiches where weaved bacon will take the place of bread; bacon ‘flights,’ where guests can sample a variety of flavors; and over-the-top boozy milkshakes. Methods of getting food without human interaction are always appreciated. We haven’t seen a signature cocktail menu surface yet, but the Bloody Marys have their own gravitational pull.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34186\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34186\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34186 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_bloody_mary.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34186\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Your Bloody Mary comes with a three-course meal, at least.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWhile the bacon may be the main draw at Bacon Nation, the artwork definitely adds some charm to the place. There’s a lot of throwback artwork, with bacon added, as well as old-school images of Las Vegas and Nevada.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34557\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34557\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34557 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_art1.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34557\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The old-timey art pieces should serve as handy conversation starters.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWe won’t ruin all the surprises, but here’s our favorite.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34554\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34554\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34554 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_artwork1.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34554\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Want. Bonus points for the custom wallpaper.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nBacon Nation fills out the dining line-up options at The D nicely. Andiamo is one of our go-to spots for dinner, American Coney Island handles the drunchies, McDonald’s is a great spot to people-watch and, now, Bacon Nation fills in the rest with bar food close to bars (the aforementioned Bar Canada, and the beloved Vue Bar is nearby, too) and a range of comfort food we look forward to working out way through.<\/p>\nA lot of the food is “Grammable,” so anticipate seeing a lot of pics in your various social media feeds.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34187\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34187\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34187 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_french_toast_box.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34187\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The French Toast Box is weird but photogenic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nTriple George recently removed its famous chicken parm from the menu (temporarily, presumably), no pressure, Bacon Nation.<\/p>\nThere’s something for everybody at Bacon Nation, it seems, from pasta to French Dip to ribs to shrimp scampi to grilled cheese to salmon and a bone-in pork chop. If you’re snooty about bacon-based cuisine, have your Cobb salad and judge.<\/p>\nRemember, you’re in Las Vegas, where “bad cholesterol” always has quotation marks around it! Both words!<\/p>\nLoosen up. You can go back to kale and sriracha-baked tofu salads with carrot-ginger dressing when you return home. Weirdo.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34561\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34561\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-34561 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bacon_nation_the_d3.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34561\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We could’ve moved the chair, but our fellow OCD sufferers understand the therapeutic benefits of powering through things.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe prices at Bacon Nation seem about right for downtown (somewhere between Four Queens and Circa), but we’ll have to check out the portion sizes to be sure.<\/p>\nAnother perk of Bacon Nation: Sigma Derby isn’t far away. The old girl has had her ups and downs recently, but she’s still galloping along.
