{"id":18732,"date":"2017-11-09T23:12:31","date_gmt":"2017-11-10T07:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/?p=18732"},"modified":"2018-06-09T13:13:35","modified_gmt":"2018-06-09T20:13:35","slug":"rumor-britney-spears-moving-mgm-resorts-venue-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/rumor-britney-spears-moving-mgm-resorts-venue-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Rumor Has It Britney Spears Moving to MGM Resorts Venue After Planet Hollywood Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It sounds like Britney Spears isn&#8217;t done with Las Vegas after all.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re hearing the &#8220;If U Seek Amy&#8221; singer will jump ship at Planet Hollywood at the end of 2017 and start another residency at a competing resort within the MGM Resorts family.<\/p>\n<p>Spears&#8217; residency at Planet Hollywood has been one of the most financially successful in Las Vegas history, generating more than $130 million in ticket sales.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1750\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1750\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1750 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/spears_album.jpg\" alt=\"Britney Spears\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/spears_album.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/spears_album-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/spears_album-624x415.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1750\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We&#8217;ll admit our favorite Britney song is &#8220;Toxic&#8221; when you admit you only visit this blog for the photo captions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Spears announced back in April 2017 that her run at Planet Hollywood would end on New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Spears&#8217; manager said the show &#8220;may continue, conceivably anywhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That &#8220;anywhere&#8221; appears to be a casino in the MGM Resorts realm. The most likely candidate seems to be the Park Theater at Monte Carlo.<\/p>\n<p>Monte Carlo is transitioning into Park MGM, and a Britney Spears residency would certainly be a boost for the re-imagined resort.<\/p>\n<p>In an article on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/hughmcintyre\/2017\/04\/14\/britneys-las-vegas-residency-is-ending-so-whats-next-for-her\/#52c96e7569d3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes.com<\/a>, the writer suggested, &#8220;If she wanted to stay where she currently is, Britney could probably start a bidding war between the other major players on the strip to see who gets to house her next.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It seems that bidding war may have already happened, and MGM Resorts reportedly prevailed.<\/p>\n<p>Time will tell. Which is Vital Vegas for, &#8220;We&#8217;re not betting the farm on this one, but only because we don&#8217;t own a farm.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Update (1\/10\/18): Thanks to KLAS (channel 13 in Las Vegas) for letting us share our Britney Spears scoop on-air.<\/p>\n<p>Update (1\/11\/18): Us Weekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/britney-spears-signs-a-new-las-vegas-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed our story<\/a>, stating Britney Spears will begin her residency at Park Theater in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Update (6\/9\/18): The Britney Spears residency at Park Theater in Las Vegas is being confirmed to guest of the theater&#8217;s production team.
