Bronto is here.<\/p>\nBronto is the nickname of the CAT 5110B Ultra High-Reach excavator which will soon take apart both Las Vegas Club hotel towers. Assembly of the machine started on Aug. 30, 2017.<\/p>\nBronto weighs a staggering 580,000 pounds, and has a reach of 182 feet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18213\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18213\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-18213 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"Las Vegas Club demolition\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/las_vegas_club_demolition_090617_4.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18213\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The only thing that could console us about the fact there won’t be an implosion is the fact there’s a bigass excavator.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe southernmost Las Vegas Club hotel tower is concrete and will come down first. The north tower is made of steel and will be wrapped in mesh before being dismantled.<\/p>\nThe demolition at 18 Fremont, of course, is to make way for a new resort expected to open in 2020.<\/p>\nFor better or worse, expect more updates soon.
