Freedom Beat will operate 24\/7, and the plan is to have a variety of artists perform in the space.<\/p>\n

Music was front-and-center during our visit. We’re pretty much of the mind that the world is divided into two groups: Those who love live music in restaurants and those who don’t. We tend to be in the latter group, as we like our music as an undercard as opposed to the main event.<\/p>\n

What’s up at Freedom Beat? Well, for starters, we love the decor. It has a rock ‘n’ roll vibe, with guitar cases built into the booths and artwork fashioned from vinyl records. You remember those, right? They were a thing.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15456\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15456\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-15456 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"Freedom Beat Downtown Grand\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/freedom_beat_downtown_grand8.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15456\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A thing of beauty, but that paint is going to wreck your stereo needle.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nFreedom Beat is a collaboration between Downtown Grand and 34th Floor Hospitality Group, the same folks who revamped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/downtown-grand-refreshes-its-pool-deck-as-citrus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the hotel’s Citrus pool deck<\/a> with very pleasing results.<\/p>\nThe restaurant’s menu was developed by Chef Scott Commings, a name that might sound familiar because he won season 12 of “Hell’s Kitchen.”<\/p>\nHere’s a look at the menu.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15457\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15457\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-15457 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"Freedom Beat Menu\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/freedom_beat_menu1.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15457\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Breakfast anytime, apps, sandwiches, salads and desserts. The prices don’t scream a locals play, but aren’t bad given there’s live music.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWhile you look adorable squinting, for a version of the menu you can actually read, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/freedom_beat_menu_lrg.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\nWe haven’t tried the food at Freedom Beat yet, but it looked tempting on its way to customers, and we did try a signature cocktail. You know us so well.<\/p>\nThe Bathtub Gin Daisy is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/panty-dropper-cocktails-las-vegas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bone fide panty-dropper<\/a>. All the cocktails run $12, and we expect to try them all over time. And by “over time,” of course, we mean our next visit.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15458\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15458\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-15458 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000;\" src=\"\/vitalvegas\/dist\/images\/common\/transparent_3x2.gif\" alt=\"Freedom Beat cocktail\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/vitalvegas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/freedom_beat_downtown_grand1.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15458\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Panties, consider yourself dropped.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nFreedom Beat also has regional boilermakers, craft beers and a healthy selection of wine.<\/p>\nOverall, Freedom Beat is a huge leap forward from the previous restaurant, and there’s a lot to like about the joint.
