Chivalry isn’t dead, you just have to buy a ticket to get some.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This annual nerdfest, featuring horrific British accents and wenches sporting far too much cleavage, is one of our favorite weird Las Vegas happenings.<\/p>\n

The festival is in its 20th year.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas has some of the world’s best knight life. See what we did there?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The event will boast more than 50 shows each day, as well as deodorant-challenged participants jousting and fake-fighting with sharp objects.<\/p>\n

Rest assured there will also be a plethora of jugglers, magicians, singers and craftspeople. Oh, and falcons.<\/p>\n

Renaissance Festival’s are a fascinating realm. They’re populated by not only the curious, but also a subculture of those who follow such festivals around, living at the site and immersing themselves fully in the experience. So, now you have an answer the next time someone asks, “Can something be creepy and cool at the same time?”<\/p>\n

Festival guests are encouraged to don their best throwback garb. Those in the Renaissance fair subculture call costumed guests is “playtrons,” a mash-up of “patron” and “player.”<\/p>\n

The Las Vegas Renaissance Festival happens at Sunset Park, not too far from McCarran International Airport. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Oct. 11-12, and until 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2013.<\/p>\n
