However, the following day the House reconsidered and passed it. From there, it whisked through the Senate and was signed into law by Governor Mark Gordon in time for the legal Wyoming sports betting market to launch in September 2021.
One of the key stipulations of the bill was that any operator granted a license had to be active in at least three states already, which ensured a certain level of experience and expertise. DraftKings and BetMGM went live on day one, and were followed a few months later by FanDuel.
PointsBet, Barstool and Caesars, all well-known sportsbooks, are expected to swell the ranks of those offering online sports betting in Wyoming.
