Scandinavian-based slots developer NetEnt announced this week that the company had officially paid out €78 million ($93 million) across 321 progressive jackpot wins during 2017.

Big Money Jackpots

Mega Fortune Dreams was the most lucrative title with players winning a total of €30.4 million in prizes on that game alone. Hall of Gods provided the biggest single win, with one lucky player triggering a progressive jackpot worth €7.5 million.

The developer has built a reputation in the online slots market for launching games that can create instant multi-millionaires. Titles such as Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams, Hall of Gods, Arabian Nights, Divine Fortune, and Cosmic Fortune have become the stuff of legend due to the size of the jackpots on offer.

Performing Mobile and Online Products

In a show of strength across various platforms, players have been triggering the NetEnt progressive jackpots at mobile casinos as well as at standard desktop online casinos.

In October last year, one fortunate player triggered the Divine Fortune progressive jackpot on their mobile device twice in the space of two weeks at Vera&John.

The Swedish-based player won £171,956 and then added to their win with a second jackpot of £79,212 just a fortnight later.

Interestingly, the largest progressive jackpot win ever recorded was triggered on the Mega Fortune slot (also created by NetEnt) on 20th January, 2013 at Paf Casino. The anonymous player won a staggering €17,860,868.

Strength in Depth

NetEnt Chief Product Officer Henrik Fagerlund said, “Our games are continuing to pay out life-changing winnings to players and to be able to win them €78 million in 2017 makes us all very proud. Mega Fortune Dreams alone has paid out around €30 million, but we must not forget Mega Fortune, Arabian Night and Halls of Gods, showing there’s more than one opportunity to win a life-changing amount of money with our pooled jackpots.”

He added, “Being able to offer players the chance to win big is what keeps them coming back and we’re over the moon that we can repay their loyalty.”

2017 – The Year That Was!

2017 was a bumper year for jackpot wins on NetEnt slots but the developer has a proven track record for releasing games that reward players with massive wins on a regular basis.

Ever since the progressive jackpots by the developer started to be tracked back in 2009, NetEnt slots have produced 49,230 jackpot wins and a total pay out valued at €536,768,534. Those numbers will continue to grow.

The news provides a positive start to the New Year for NetEnt after ending 2017 on a similarly productive footing.

The developer has also confirmed that it will lead the way with HTML 5 upgrades, signalling the beginning of the end for the era of Flash.

Progressive Partnership Deals

NetEnt also announced a partnership deal with online lottery betting operator Multilotto just before Christmas. As a result, Multilotto will now have access to the full library of NetEnt games, giving more players the chance to trigger one of their life-changing progressive jackpots.

Just a matter of days before that deal, NetEnt had also signed a distribution deal with IGT to supply online casinos games to Norsk Tipping Norwegian state lottery. This offers even more opportunity for players across the world to become instant millionaires playing NetEnt progressive jackpot slots.
