Love Island: The UK’s ‘Type on Paper’, According to the Public

Love Island: The UK’s ‘Type on Paper’, According to the Public

Just like that – Love Island is over for another year.

But we can’t let go quite yet. We wanted to find out who the UK’s ‘type on paper’ really is, so we surveyed 1,000 members of the public online.

As well as that, we were keen to get to the bottom of why the the UK public feels so strongly about their ‘type on paper’. We sent our team to find out, and here’s what some of the public had to say about this year’s contestants:

God bless the British public.

Thanks to our online survey, we can now reveal what every region’s top male and female contestant has been this series, based on their type:

The UK

The results are in. The UK has selected Tom Walker and Amber Gill as their ‘type on paper’ in our survey.

You may remember Tom as the one who got on the wrong side of Maura Higgins, or the one who was dumped by fellow female islanders in late June – or, you may not remember him at all. Either way, the UK seemed to take a liking to this Leeds model.

As for the female contestants, the UK backs the queen of the villa and has chosen Amber, the Newcastle beauty therapist as their ‘type on paper.’

It was, however, a close tossup between Tom Walker and Tommy Fury, Amber Gill and Amy Hart.

Yorkshire and the Humber

It was a close call between Tom Walker and Tommy Fury but in the end, Yorkshire and the Humber’s ‘type on paper’ was Tommy Fury.

This region took a liking to cabin crew manager, Amy Hart! Regardless of Amy leaving back in early July and having probably the most rollercoaster experience in the villa, Yorkshire and the Humber are still backing her as their type on paper.

West Midlands

We have another close call between Tom and Tommy, however West Midlands have opted for Boxer Tommy as their type.

Winner Amber Gill has stolen the hearts of West Midlanders as she was voted their type on paper.

Wales

Another win for Tom, as results show Wales’ favourite male islander was Leeds model Tom Walker.

Amber has won over Wales’ viewers by being chosen as their type this series.

South West

The South West’s favourite is, yep, you guessed it: Tom Walker.

Amber has yet again stolen the most hearts.

South East

Tom and Amber bring in the votes once again.

Scotland

A surprising result from Scotland, choosing South Wales, Callum Macleod (first islander to leave this series), as their type on paper. But what about backing Scottish lad Anton? Someone we expected to be their ‘type on paper’…

For the female islanders, Amber received the highest number of votes by Scotland fans.

North West

Tommy Fury steals the limelight from Tom as he wins over the North West.

…and Amber wins again!

Northern Ireland

Tommy Fury was Northern Ireland’s top vote.

Amber wins for the 10,000th time, as she scoops the vote from Northern Ireland.

North East

Yep, you guessed it – Tom and Amber.

Greater London

We have a three-way tie between Tom, Anton and Chris.
