Ground-Breaking Plans

The plans were announced as part of a $1.5 billion expansion to the resort, with construction expected to be completed on the new site by the summer of 2019.

It is set to officially open in preparation for Super Bowl LIV, which is being hosted at the Hard Rock Stadium in February 2020.

In what is one of the most innovative architectural projects of recent times, the new building which forms the extension to the resort will be in the shape of two back-to-back guitars. Guitar strings that are brightly lit will also rise 450 feet into the air as part of the grand design.

It is a project that is set to double the size of the Hard Rock Casino venue in one go. 3,267 slot machines, 178 classic casino tables games, and a plush new 18,000 square feet sized poker room will form the new state-of-the-art building.

An extra 638 guest rooms will be located in the iconic guitar tower section of the new extension. 168 further guest rooms will be based in the 7-storey pool tower building.

The guitar tower will rise above an exotic ‘Bora Bora Experience’ complex where luxury villas and a 10 acre pool area will give guests the opportunity to live in lavish surroundings that are more suited to the French Polynesia Islands.

Also included in the expansion project is a new $100 million Hard Rock Live venue with a 7,000 seat capacity that will replace the current 5,500 seater venue.

A retail space that covers an area of 60,000 square feet will also be built. Additional amenities such as a business centre, restaurants, and a 41,000 square feet spa complex are set to be constructed on the site too.

Tribal Leadership

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Seminole Gaming. Individuals involved in the ownership of the site recently met to mark the project being given the green light by delivering a classic ‘Guitar Smash’ in a Hard Rock style.

Seminole Tribe Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr said, “Our ancestors and elders welcomed curious tourists to our Florida reservations, and today’s members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida will soon welcome visitors from all over the world to what will become a landmark destination.”

He added, “Our guitar tower will attract global attention.”

The mesmerizing project is being worked on in a partnership between Seminole Gaming CEO and Hard Rock International Chairman James F. Allen and Las Vegas architects Klai Juba Wald.

Other firms such as Rockwell Group, New York, Wilson Associates, Dallas, and Laurence Lee Associates, Los Angeles have also been consulted on the design and interior furnishing of the new building.

Allen stated, “Our talented team of architects and designers have done an amazing job of designing this incredible structure and working to bring it to life but it’s our team of dedicated employees and managers at Seminole Gaming who really deserve the credit.”

“They are responsible for the ongoing success of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino by helping to lay the foundation to make this expansion project possible,” he continued.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is one of the prime entertainment venues in Hollywood. It attracts some top class musical acts with Andrea Bocelli, Kelly Clarkson, and Toni Braxton amongst the performers who have graced the stage.

Tourists flock to the venue every year to experience the world-famous memorabilia tour that features some fantastic items from the entertainment world. Examples on display include Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith’s Yankees cap and jumpsuit, a drum set used by Imagine Dragons at the 2013 Grammy Awards, and the bass guitar used by Slash of Guns ‘n’ Roses in the “Sweet Child O’ Mine” music video.

Those that visit the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino are also ideally located to a number of local attractions within the Hollywood vicinity such as the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, Downtown Hollywood, the Anne Kolb Nature Centre, and the Billie Swamp Safari.
